About Bones:
Bones is an American crime comedy-drama television series that premiered on the Fox network in the United States on September 13, 2005. The show is based on forensic anthropology and forensic archaeology, with each episode focusing on an FBI case file concerning the mystery behind human remains brought by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) to the forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel). The rest of the main cast includes Michaela Conlin, T. J. Thyne, Eric Millegan, Tamara Taylor, Jonathan Adams, and John Francis Daley.

Created by Hart Hanson, the series is very loosely based on the life and writings of novelist and forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, who also produces the show. Its title character, Temperance Brennan, is named after the protagonist of Reichs' crime novel series. Conversely, Dr. Brennan writes successful mystery novels based around a fictional (in the Bones universe) forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs. Bones is a joint production by Josephson Entertainment, Far Field Productions and 20th Century Fox Television.

The series is currently airing its eighth season and has been renewed for a ninth season.

My Thoughts:
Season 1 ended in a cliffhanger as expected but still a bummer. So our solution is....tada!! A dvd boxset of Seasons 1 to 7. So it is a Bones marathan for my forced annual leave. It was take it or loose it at work so I opted for sitting on my ass and six seasons of Bones.

Like I said in Season 1 I am a romantic and really, really like the romantic angle that this show is taking. But why does David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel can't kiss on the screen? Excluding Episode 100, that is. They are obviously very good actor/actress, so why is their kissing scenes so tight-lipped? Hell, the secondary characters kiss more convincingly than they do. Even the supposedly bed scenes are so staid you'd think that this was not modern television. Added to that, the show skipped on the love scenes and went straight to the baby bump. Consequently the show got short-changed in pizzazz and sizzle division. It was disappointing! So much so that I don't think I would be pre-ordering Season 8's dvd box set. So Brennan told Booth about her pregnancy at the end of Season 6. Then Season 7 started with Brennan and Booth in a half-the-time-in-his-and-half-the-time-in-hers arrangement for 5 months already. The Bones show skipped on the reaction of the other members of their crime-fighting team to Brennan and Booth's getting together after 6 years of denial! As a fan, I felt cheated. I also have nitpicking issues on little details with this show which I found annoying and could have been made better with a little more attention to detail. I blame the scriptwriter(s) and the director(s) for that... At the end of it (after Episode 141), I am still a Bones fan but a disappointed fan. However, I now have a serious crush on Special Agent Seeley Booth so I would still be following this series.

Empirical Evaluation:
Cinematography = 4.5
Script/Story Itself = 3
World building = 4
Attention To Detail = 2.5
Plot = 3
Acting = 4

Overall Rating: 3.5 out of 5 cherries

So sad you didn't love it.
This is my show.
But I feel ya. A little more hype would have been fun.
