Juju - Amazon's point is to keep the cost down. That is correct. But I do not agree to the way amazon is doing it by throwing a hissy fit. By withdrawing macmillan books for the weekend. If you are an author, the public cannot buy your book from one of the biggest online bookseller for a whole weekend. If you have a book release that weekend, your screwed. Understandably affected authors are angry.

I like book prizes down, but not at the cost to the authors that way.

I am not pro-amazon nor pro-macmillan. I am just a reader/buyer sympathizing with the affected authors.

I did some research and correct me if I'm wrong but the argument was over Amazon trying to keep the cost of eBooks down. Amazon wants to keep the cost at $9.99 and MacMillan wants to raise it to $12.99 or $14.99. If that's what Amazon was trying to do then I praise Amazon for standing their ground. I appreciate any company that fights to keep costs down for the consumer.

Thanks for that post. I wondered why I couldn't buy my books. Amazon sure did screw themselves! I think John put it out there perfectly! Maybe Amazon should hire him to write there speeches at least they would make sense. Why would they let the kindel people do it. No one even like the Kindel, at least I don't. Amazon=Amazoff.
